Art Work created for two Bedford-Stuyvesant Stars






Fedrecia Hartley created "Representing" for Assemblywoman Annette Robinson during a Tribute and Benefit Concert held in the Village of Bedford-Stuyvesant on May 21. Annette Robinson celebrated over 33 years of public service. Stephanie Mills, the guest artists, was also presented with a piece entitled "Home". Proceeds from the concert to complete the construction of the Bedford-Stuyvesant Community Conference Center which will be located at 1859 Fulton Street. SmART Brooklyn Gallery Hop on

Saturday, November 21 from 1pm-6pm

It is Free, Fun and Easy!


The smART Brooklyn Gallery Hop will take place on Saturday, November 21, from 1:00 pm. to 6:00 pm. During this time there will be free shuttle busses running on two different loops offering attendees a chance to experience galleries throughout Brooklyn. Zion Gallery will be featured on the Red Loop. This loop will depart hourly from MoCADA located at 80 Hanson Place (at St. Portland) beginning at 1:00pm.

Free smART Brooklyn Gallery Hop busses will run from two different hubs on Saturday and Sunday; each route loops through a different art gallery district. Each bus will be staffed with art docents to answer questions about visiting galleries and Brooklyn's art scene.

*You must reservations to take the free smART event buses!

You must give your name, phone number or email, and specify which hub and time you want (e.g., 2pm Red loop).

You also have the option of visiting specific galleries on your own and need not make any reservations to take a self-guided tour!

Bed-Stuy Alive!


This year marks the 5th Annual Bed-Stuy Alive Festival, the 5th Annual Bed-Stuy Alive Festival takes place on Saturday, October 10, from 10 am until 5 pm, on Fulton Street between Brooklyn and Marcy Avenues, in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, NY.

Bed-Stuy Alive includes live cultural performances from local schools and community organizations and a special live concert featuring some of Brooklyn’s hippest, hottest and funkiest bands.

In addition to great entertainment, the free outdoor neighborhood celebration includes an awards presentation honoring some of Bedford Stuyvesant’s community legends

SMALL WORKS at ZION GALLERY



Zion Gallery would like to officially announce our Small Works Gallery.  The Small Works Gallery at Zion Gallery features a dedicated space for originals and prints 12 inches by 12 inches or smaller.  This gallery is growing.  As pieces are sold, more are added.    We have work from Annette E. Greetings From Zion Gallery....

On behalf of Zion Gallery, I'd like to extend my sincerest appreciation to everyone who came out to support the gallery during the smART Gallery Hop Event. Guest were treated to holiday libations and refreshments while browsing the creative works of local artists.

Our Inaugural Holiday Soiree was a huge success! We had the opportunity to share the joys of the holiday season with new and old friends while providing the Brooklyn community with a glimpse of Zion Gallery and it's many offerings.

This event could not have been possible without a dedicated team of volunteers, our dynamic artists and the unwavering support of patrons like you....

Zion Gallery News....


On behalf of Zion Gallery, we are pleased to announce our participation in the smART Brooklyn Gallery Hop. This initiative is sponsored by the Brooklyn Tourism and Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz.

This monumental event is expected to shine the light on Brooklyn's thriving art scene, help educate newcomers about the art world and to to increase visitation to Brooklyn's premiere art galleries.

Con Edison’s curator Leon Nicholas Kalas, in his quest to continue exhibiting talented emerging Brooklyn artists at the Con Edison’s Exhibiting Space, has discovered Fedrecia Hartley, a native of Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn.

Fedrecia’s bold creative works are done in a mixed media and acrylic that often addresses the complexity of the urban landscape. Her recent works being exhibited in this show is a mixed media series of Urban Flowers done in rich colors capturing the everyday beauty and strength that can be found in the city.

Fedrecia has studied at New York University, and received an MA in Studio Art. She has been exhibited at various art exhibitions, including The Brooklyn Public Library- Macon Branch, Fulton Art Fair, Skylight Gallery, the African American Museum in Hempstead, LI and the prestigious Salmagundi Art Club in New York City. Federecia is the Director of Zion Gallery and President and Co-founder of the Bedford-Stuyvesant Artists’ Association (BeSAA).
